CARE

Light: Aglaonema ‘B.J. Freeman’ grows well in medium to bright indirect light and can tolerate lower-light conditions. Brighter indirect light can help maintain stronger foliage color and compact growth. Avoid prolonged harsh direct sunlight, which may scorch the leaves.

Water: Water thoroughly when the upper portion of the potting mix begins to dry, then allow excess water to drain freely. Avoid keeping the roots constantly saturated, as prolonged wet conditions can lead to root problems.

Humidity: Average household humidity is generally suitable. Moderate humidity can help maintain healthy foliage, especially in dry indoor environments.

Soil: Use a loose, well-draining potting mix that retains some moisture while allowing excess water to escape. A quality indoor plant mix amended with perlite, bark, or other aeration materials works well.

Temperature: Prefers warm indoor conditions around 65–85°F. Protect the plant from cold drafts and prolonged exposure to temperatures below about 55°F.

Fertilizer: Feed lightly with a balanced fertilizer during periods of active growth. Reduce feeding during cooler months when growth slows.

GROWTH & HABIT

Aglaonema ‘B.J. Freeman’ develops multiple upright stems from the base, producing a dense clump of broad, pointed leaves. The foliage features silvery-green coloration through the center of the leaf with darker green margins and markings, creating a clean, high-contrast look. As it matures, the plant can become a substantial indoor specimen while maintaining an upright, manageable form.

PET SAFETY

Pet Safety: Aglaonema contains calcium oxalate crystals and is toxic if ingested by cats and dogs. Keep this plant out of reach of pets and children.
