Care

Light: Give Hoya krohniana ‘Silver’ bright indirect light for strong, compact growth. Gentle morning sun or filtered sun is usually well tolerated, but protect the foliage from prolonged harsh afternoon sun.

Water: Keep the root zone lightly and consistently moist without leaving the plant waterlogged. Water thoroughly when the upper portion of the potting mix begins to dry. Avoid allowing the entire root ball to remain completely dry for extended periods, especially in bright light.

Humidity: Moderate to high humidity is beneficial, but the plant can adapt to normal indoor conditions when watering and light are consistent.

Soil: Use an airy, fast-draining mix that provides both moisture retention and good root aeration. Orchid bark, perlite, coco chips, and a quality peat- or coco-based potting mix work well.

Temperature: Best grown in warm conditions around 65–85°F. Protect from cold drafts and prolonged temperatures below about 55°F.

Fertilizer: Feed lightly with a balanced houseplant fertilizer during active growth. Reduce feeding when growth slows.

Growth & Habit

Hoya krohniana ‘Silver’ develops slender trailing or climbing vines with closely spaced, small leaves. It works especially well in hanging baskets, where the vines can cascade naturally, or it can be trained onto a small trellis. Mature vines can extend several feet indoors under good growing conditions. Established plants may produce clusters of small, waxy flowers that are typically fragrant.
