Description

Hoya Macrophylla is a collector-favorite vining houseplant known for its thick, textured leaves, bold veining, and beautiful variegated edges. The foliage has a firm, waxy feel with green centers and lighter margins that can show creamy yellow, white, or soft pink tones depending on light and growth conditions.

Also known as Hoya latifolia, this plant can be grown trailing from a hanging basket, climbing on a trellis, or displayed on a shelf where its vines can naturally spread. It is a great choice for hoya collectors, bright indoor spaces, and anyone who wants a plant with strong foliage detail and a clean tropical look.

Care Instructions:

Light: Bright, indirect light is best. Some gentle morning sun can help bring out stronger color, but avoid harsh afternoon sun.

Water: Let the soil dry mostly between waterings. Hoyas do not like sitting in wet soil.

Soil: Use a chunky, well-draining mix with orchid bark, perlite, coco chips, or a hoya-style potting mix.

Humidity: Average household humidity is usually fine, but higher humidity can support stronger growth.

Fertilizer: Feed lightly during spring and summer with a diluted houseplant fertilizer.

Growth Habit: Hoya Macrophylla naturally vines and can be grown trailing or climbing.

Hoya Macrophylla, also known as Hoya latifolia, is generally considered non-toxic to cats and dogs. Still, pets should not be encouraged to chew on it, since eating any plant material can cause stomach upset.
