Adenium ‘Picotee’, commonly known as Picotee Desert Rose, is a striking flowering succulent prized for its bold blooms, sculptural trunk, and unique desert character. Its trumpet-shaped flowers feature beautiful contrasting edges, often combining shades of white, pink, red, or rosy crimson for a dramatic two-tone appearance. Beneath the flowers, a thick swollen caudex stores water and gradually develops into a unique bonsai-like form as the plant matures. Care Guide:

• Light: Prefers very bright light and several hours of direct sunlight each day for strong growth and abundant flowering. Indoors, place near your brightest south- or west-facing window whenever possible.
• Water: Water thoroughly during active growth, then allow the soil to dry well before watering again. Desert Rose is highly sensitive to consistently wet soil, especially during cooler months when growth slows.
• Humidity: Prefers average to low humidity and does not require additional moisture in the air. Good airflow is beneficial, especially in warm conditions.
• Soil & Potting: Use a fast-draining cactus or succulent mix amended with perlite, pumice, or coarse material for additional drainage. Always choose a container with drainage holes to prevent water from collecting around the roots.
• Fertilizer: Feed lightly with a diluted balanced or bloom-supporting fertilizer during spring and summer while actively growing and flowering. Reduce or stop feeding during cooler months or periods of dormancy.
• Temperature: Thrives in warm conditions around 70–95°F (21–35°C). Protect from cold temperatures and bring indoors before temperatures fall below about 50°F.

Growth & Size:

Moderate-growing during warm weather; typically reaches around 2–4 feet tall in containers, depending on age, pruning, and growing conditions. Over time, Adenium ‘Picotee’ develops a thicker caudex and increasingly branched canopy, creating a beautiful miniature-tree appearance. Mature plants grown in strong light can produce repeated flushes of colorful flowers throughout the warmer months.

Desert Rose produces a milky sap containing cardiac glycosides that can be harmful if consumed and may irritate skin or eyes.
