Monstera Deliciosa

Monstera deliciosa (Swiss Cheese Plant) is a tropical vine known for its large, fenestrated leaves and vigorous climbing habit. As the plant matures, its leaves develop natural splits and holes, giving it the iconic “Swiss cheese” appearance. This houseplant grows quickly and can reach 6–8 feet indoors when given support and proper care, adding bold jungle vibes to any space.

**Care Guide**

Light: Provide bright, indirect light; avoid direct sun. Rotate plant regularly for even growth.  

Water: Water when the top 2 inches of soil are dry. Use room-temperature water and ensure good drainage to prevent root rot.  

Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity (around 50%). Mist leaves or use a humidifier/pebble tray to increase humidity.  

Soil & Potting: Plant in a rich, well-draining mix with peat or coco coir and perlite or bark. Ensure pot has drainage holes. Aerial roots can be directed into the soil or around a moss pole.  

Fertilizer: Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer. Reduce feeding in fall and winter.  

Temperature: Thrives at 65–85 °F. Keep away from cold drafts and hot, dry air; avoid temperatures below 60 °F.  

Growth & Size: Indoors, plants can reach 6–8 ft tall with leaves up to 2 ft long. Provide a stake or trellis for support and prune to control size and shape.  

Pet Safety: Monstera leaves, stems, and sap contain calcium oxalate crystals and are toxic if ingested by pets or humans. Keep out of reach.
