Ospinae Gruberii ‘Ice’ is a beautiful Cattleya-type orchid known for its elegant, showy blooms and collector appeal. This orchid can produce large, eye-catching flowers with a clean, refined look, making it a great choice for orchid lovers who want something more unique than a standard grocery-store orchid.

Its bold blooms and upright growth make it perfect for bright indoor spaces, patios, orchid shelves, and collector displays. Like many Cattleya alliance orchids, it appreciates strong filtered light, good airflow, and a chunky orchid mix that allows the roots to breathe.

Care Instructions:

Light: Bright, indirect light is best. It can handle stronger filtered light than many houseplants, but avoid harsh direct afternoon sun.

Water: Water thoroughly, then allow the roots and potting mix to dry slightly before watering again. Do not let it sit in standing water.

Soil: Use a chunky orchid mix with bark, perlite, charcoal, or similar airy materials.

Humidity: Average to higher humidity is preferred. Good airflow is important.

Fertilizer: Feed lightly during active growth with a diluted orchid fertilizer.

Pet Safety:

Orchids are generally considered non-toxic to cats and dogs. Still, pets should not be encouraged to chew on them, since eating any plant material can cause stomach upset.
